Customs Regulations

Duty-Free Allowances: Each adult may bring in 200 cigarettes, 25 cigars, or 100 grams of tobacco; alcoholic beverages are limited to 1 liter.

Personal Belongings: The total value of items purchased abroad and brought into Indonesia may not exceed $500; any amount exceeding this limit will be subject to duty.

Currency: You must declare any cash exceeding 100 million Indonesian rupiah (or the equivalent in foreign currency) upon entry.

Prohibited Items: It is strictly prohibited to bring in drugs, weapons, fireworks, pornographic materials, etc. If you are carrying medication containing narcotic ingredients, you must have a doctor’s prescription.

Electronic Devices: For telecommunications devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops purchased abroad, you must register the IMEI with customs at the airport. Failure to do so will prevent the use of local Indonesian SIM cards.

Animal and Plant Products: Individuals are prohibited from bringing bird’s nest (except processed forms), animals, plants, and their products into the country.
